Balance issues continue to plague players at ALL levels!
Parents and coaches alike will most often request classes on “Acceleration” techniques. We are more than happy to do so, but prefer to warm up with edge awareness exercises, balance skills and dynamic exercises.
Invariably, we discover many players who struggle with simple balance exercises – both forward and backward. Building a strong, basic foundation with good core stability will enhance ALL hockey skills. We incorporate aspects that force players to become more “aware” of just how important posture is to balance and how it affects EVERYTHING!
Balance exercises on flats and edges really hone the success of ALL skills. Finding ways to keep this component “fun” can be challenging, but well worth the dividends it pays!
